BMW’s all hands meetings are an opportunity for employees from across the business to share insights and ask questions that promote collaboration, furthering the goals of the company as a whole. However, encouraging staff to put questions to panels of the top brass in a live environment can prove tricky.
Given the huge success BMW has enjoyed through its use of Wi-5 at events over the previous 12+ months, it made sense to use the technology to overcome any barriers to engagement in this internal comms scenario. As such, the event at BMW UK’s HQ was kitted out for the day with blanket coverage Wi-5, replete with a bespoke Wi-5 application that afforded all attendees the opportunity to interact with keynote speakers in realtime, securely asking questions via their smartphones, tablets and laptops; with usage data made available to the event’s organisers in realtime via a custom browser-based dashboard. As always, this was done without the need of any apps, downloads or an Internet connection.
At the close of the event, the same mechanic allowed audience members to submit feedback on the event. Again, through the comfort of users’ own devices. The frictionless user experience resulted in unprecedented levels of audience engagement and interaction. Suffice to say, Wi-5 is sure to become a staple of future BMW Business Briefings.
